Mechanical Engineer

Temporary Position - San Jose, CA

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Design major components of semiconductor equipment including custom automation, robotics and environmental control systems for new products. Responsibilities will include concept development, cost estimation, assembly drawings/procedures and other related information.

Education, Experience and Skills:

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering
  • Must be capable of defining overall systems layouts and specifications
  • Proficient in SolidWorks and AutoCAD (Pro-E a plus)
  • Experience working with manufacturing engineers to address issues such as design for manufacturability and cost effectiveness
  • Familiarity with SEMI S2 and S8

Field Service Engineer - North America

Full Time Position - San Jose, CA

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

SPT Microtechnologies is seeking a Field Service Engineer to install, maintain and upgrade our oxidation and LPCVD vertical furnaces in the semiconductor, power management, MEMS, LED and advanced packaging fabrication facilities. As an SPT Field Service Engineer you will work side-by-side with our customer at their IC manufacturing facility. You will also work at the SPT manufacturing facility helping with R&D and production when not at customer site. During a routine work day, you may be working on systems that incorporate:

  • Robotics
  • Hydraulics
  • Thermal Systems
  • Advanced Control Software
  • Precision Optics
  • Low Pressure Systems
  • Gas and Chemical Delivery Systems
  • Pneumatic Controls

All of this within an ultra-clean environment.

Job duties include:

  • Installation and integration
  • Utilize advanced tools (DVM’s, Advanced Software Diagnostic’s, He Leak Checker, Laser Particle Checker etc.) to ensure that maintenance and calibration are perfect
  • Review equipment engineering specs and provide feedback to the factory for improvements
  • Build and maintain customer satisfaction through clear, consistent communication and the sharing of collective knowledge.

Education, Experience and Skills:

  • 3 or more years of electro-mechanical experience or equivalent
  • Requires current driver’s license
  • Must be willing and able to travel, including internationally
  • Flexibility to work on shifts/overtime/stand-by/on-call/holidays when required
  • Must relocate to San Jose, California

Customer Service Engineer - Europe

Full Time Position - Villach, Austria

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for installation, start-up, troubleshooting, repair and preventive maintenance service of company equipment at customer sites, mainly in Villach (Austria), but also in Europe and worldwide.

The position offers the opportunity to develop and use troubleshooting skills and experience on curative and preventive intervention.
The candidate needs to be hands-on, aggressively interested in learning new things and keen on communicating both with customers and internally.

Education, Experience and Skills:

  • BS/AS degree in Electronics Engineering or Manufacturing Systems Engineering or equivalent
  • Experience in the semiconductor industry is a plus, but not mandatory
  • Ability to understand and troubleshoot problems in software and electronics, mechanical and electro-mechanical systems to address on site customer problems.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
